Artist Statement

Detroit Design Duo Leslie Ann Pilling and Aaron Lee Rosenhaus are family. The Mother and son team share a passion for design.

They embraced a Jewish symbol : the ‘Willow’ and created a collaborative immersive public experience for all to share in the celebration of Sukkot. The concept: a modern cube with one-way mirrored exterior walls effective by day, yet see-thru at night: the interiors transparent fabric forest capture the Willows of Belle Isle.The goal to reflect the Capitol Park as the community people sit inside to ponder and converse about daily subjects and break bread.
