What other ways of construction could have been implemented during the 40 years of desert life where frailty and transience were daily proponents of living? Heavy building materials were not ideal, while construction necessitated efficiency and simplicity. We propose using balloons and gases from the ground or air (helium or hot air) to be the floating structure of our sukkot. With many architectures, the structure tends to be the heaviest element. But using a weather balloon will allow us to dismantle and relocate easily. The s’chach will be made of dried leaves porous to let rain pass and also transparent enough to see through.
